Progressive Circus, Chez nous prod and KPM Concerts proudly present three Swedish concerts with Colin Edwin & John Wesley’s VOYAGE 35!
3 mars – Södra Teatern, Stockholm
4 mars – Musikens hus, Gothenburg
6 mars – Plan B, Malmö
When the applause after Porcupine Tree’s gig at Royal Albert Hall in London 2010 had faded, PT co-founder and bass player Colin Edwin and guitarist John Wesley took different paths, but one and a half decade later, they felt that the old PT material was much too exciting to not be played live again. That’s why they decided to form VOYAGE 35 to once again tour with their favourite songs of early Porcupine Tree (1992-2000).
The two hour show will not only bring Porcupine Tree’s original light show from Fruit Salad Lights, and songs often not performed since the live album Coma Divine (1997), but also many fan favourites like Radioactive toy, Up the downstair, Signify and Moonloop. The band will also take the audience on a psychedelic/progressive space rock adventure just like old PT did, but it will not be merely a nostalgia show. The Voyage 35 members will also contribute with their own musical creative identity to the material.
On stage, you will also see and hear keyboard player Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari (also in Colin’s O.R.k) and drummer Alessandro Vagnoni, described as the link between the PT drummers Chris Maitland and Gavin Harrison.
Colin Edwin: “I know there is a lot of love out there for the early Porcupine Tree material, and many people have expressed a desire to hear it again. Most of this music kind of fell by the wayside as the band moved on, and it feels right to revisit things again with a fresh approach and new musical talent”
John Wesley: “I realized deep inside that I really missed playing that music so an opportunity to go out with Colin and an amazing set of musicians to perform music I deeply cared about was not something I was going to miss. Bringing that music to fans that care about it as I do will be a mutual pleasure”
